Brendons - A great new auction addition
Brendons, the West London and Middlesex based commercial and surveying
agency, is pleased to announce the opening of their property auction
division, Brendons Auctioneers Ltd.
The new venture will be headed up by Phillip Arnold, previously with
another successful West London auction company. Phillip and his team
have formed this new company with Simon O'Brien, Russell Cairns and
Arabella Bennett who are all founding partners of Brendons Auctioneers
Ltd.
The firm will be offering commercial and residential property on behalf
of
banks, property companies, institutions and private individuals
throughout the UK.
The venue
for Brendons' property auctions will be The New Connaught Rooms in
Holborn, London. The first auction is scheduled for Tuesday 24th July
with further bi monthly sales booked for the future.
Phillip Arnold said, "We are focused on the success of this venture and
with the wealth of experience within the partnership and the firm as a
whole, I expect us to grow rapidly within the marketplace". |

Rising star of property auctions to appear on BBC1 |
 |
|
ANDREW Binstock, 31 year
old director and
auctioneer at Sutton
Kersh Binstock, is set to appear
on BBC1’s Homes Under the
Hammer later in the year,
having been selected by the
well known BBC1 team to
feature in their programme
recently.
“We were delighted to
welcome them to our second
ever auction,” he says. “It’s
been an amazing journey so far
for us. Our debut auction was
on March 22 this year and it
was a huge success. Homes
Under the Hammer had heard
about us and got in contact.

Andrew Binstock
|
“They came down to film
what was only our second ever
auction. It was slightly slower
than the first auction, but I think
they still got some great footage
for their show. The bidding for a
two bed flat in E1 lasted for
about 10 minutes and when the
gavel eventually came down,
the audience broke into
applause!”
Binstock is fairly new to the world of
auctioneering, having only started as a
professional auctioneer in Feb 2006 for the
Liverpool branch of the company, Sutton Kersh.
He has quickly made a name for himself in the
business by bringing an element of humour to
the rostrum.
“Some people are sat around for an hour or
two waiting for their lot to come up. I think it’s
only fair that they are entertained in the
meantime,” quips Binstock.
“I tried my hand at stand-up comedy many
years ago but found it to be a very lonely life. I
needed to find another way to perform in front
of an audience but during normal working hours
and ideally without getting heckled!
“Before I knew it I found myself at Allsops in
Knightsbridge and that was where I got my first
taste of the rostrum, having entered some
amateur auction competitions for them. Fast
forward eight years and I’m now doing my
dream job. |
“Auctioning is my passion and I love the buzz
of the room. And if I throw in a bit of comedy to
keep the crowd entertained, what’s wrong with
that? I always have people coming up to me
after the auction to say thank you for making
the whole experience enjoyable.”
Binstock made headlines in Liverpool back in
February when he stood on the rostrum and
auctioned over 120 properties solidly for five
and half hours without taking a break – a feat
that is recognised as being an auction and
endurance record.
“That was a crazy day. It was a busy room
and every time I thought the bidding had
finished for a particular property, I did my usual
routine of dragging out the falling of the gavel
and kept sucking new bids out of the room.
While it was probably frustrating for the bidders
who were willing me to bring the hammer
down, the vendors were absolutely delighted.
“I’m glad I’ve got a reputation for sucking
every last bid from the room and not bringing
down the gavel as soon as I’ve hit the reserve
price as other auctioneers do. I try to treat every
property I auction as if it was my own.
“On the train home, I had the shakes, my
body was on the edge of meltdown. It was a
very satisfying day though – although I now stop
for a banana and a drink every couple of hours
when I’m auctioning!” |
Andrew Binstock’s relentless energy and
overall desire to get the best possible price for
every property he auctions is helping to make
Sutton Kersh and Sutton Kersh Binstock a strong
brand in the world of property auctions.
Sutton Kersh Binstock’s next auction is at
the Ramada Hotel in Watford on July 18 2007.
